Animal Assisted Therapy

The presence of animals can be soothing and help build rapport between therapist and client. Many animals immediately pick up social cues so vital to human relationships. Therapists  process that information and use it to help clients see how their behavior affects others. Missy, completely adorable Yorkshire Terrier,  is a regular participant in session with Dr. Hamilton.

Equine Assisted Therapy and Learning (EAT & EAL)

Horses respond to non-verbal messages with unique and exacting  insight. They are reflectors of our true selves at that very moment. These qualities make them a wonderful partner in therapy. Equine Assisted Therapy sessions are facilitated by a trained mental health professional and an equine specialist. Dr. Jane Hamilton, along with her husband Dr. Allan Hamilton, a renowned brain surgeon, horse trainer and author, have developed powerful equine programs for cancer survivors, at-risk youth, PTSD and more.  They have been featured on Arizona Highways, ABC News, NBC, PBS, and CNN and has been written about and featured in Western Horseman, Horse & Rider, and Equus magazines.  The Drs. Hamiton are available to bring their unique equine programs to your group or facility worldwide.
